I attended an organizational meeting about an
event hosted by the Bryn Athyn Church that happens in March. The main speaker is Francis Weller, who will speak about grief in a time of uncertainty. The members of the planning team have their own struggles to wade through, even as they try to orchestrate the details. For us the conversation is not hypothetical. Grief has found us even when we try to
hide.
This has been a taxing year, as we ricochet between the loss of routines, and celebrations, jobs, and what is familiar. Small efforts to gather, even virtually, may be one of the few bright spots open to us in a landscape that shifts more quickly than a swoop of birds.
Isolation erodes us, like too much weather all at once. But in becoming shelter for each other, we can find safety. You are invited to join us, and perhaps discover a flash of color to comfort you.
