Many years ago I was under a maple tree collecting golden leaves with my then two year old son. We admired the beauty of each one, commenting on how the LORD had made them all beautiful and different. This went on for some time when my son walked slowly over to me carrying a very dead, very brown leaf.

 

"Lord make it?" he asked wrinkling his brow.

 

"Yes," I said. "The Lord made it."

 

"Leaf broken," he sighed.

 

I nodded.

 

"Lord fix it?" he asked.

 

"Yes!" I said, preparing to launch into a discussion of decomposition and future baby trees. Before I could he grinned from ear to ear in awed amazement.

 

"Lord have tape!"

 

Yes my darling first born, the Lord does indeed have tape... for broken leaves and broken hearts and broken lives. Unlike your mother's his roll never runs out or gets lost and He is always waiting ready to help you use it so it won't get snarled up.
