Music has power.

This Christmas my husband and son plotted secretly to pipe music into the dining room and kitchen. It involved clandestine activity including long, slender poles with hooks on them, drilling at midnight, crumbling plaster and mysterious packages from UPS. 

 

I love it! When I feel sluggish about starting supper, or plunging my hands into soapy dishwater, I remember that I can turn on Beach Boys, or Accapella. The energy that bursts out of nowheresville, and translates into adrenaline in my veins is fast, green and off the grid. Two minutes ago the silence weighed me down like concrete shoes, but with the booming sounds of my favorite tunes I can handle any pile of glommy pots. 

 

Your relationship has a playlist that sets your heart to dancing, but I have a feeling you forget to turn it on.
