Marriage Moats-Who Loves Marriage?

![]() Who can love marriage?
It is not a privilege of the few, nor is it the result of the cards life has dealt you.
There are people who love children who are not themselves parents. There are persons who love freedom who struggle under a tyrannical regime. Who respects vibrant health more than someone who is not currently blessed by it?
One woman who was divorced told me that perhaps she values marriage more than some couples who are married, because she knows what it means to lose it.
As someone who has taken my functioning body for granted for long stretches of time, I can relate. It is after a bout of the flu, or a week with a wrenched back that I recall how dearly I appreciate being pain free.
Love for marriage is a gift that is freely available, like the sunlight. There are no scrutinizing screens hovering over certain segments of society who are disqualified.
Who is married? A search in the public records can satisfy my curiosity. But who loves marriage?
That is a question I can answer with my actions, every day the sun comes up. Photo by Andy Sullivan
