What does it even mean?
"I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world... They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world." John 17
Gravity tethers me to the earth. Time tugs me like a corset in my effort to finish a task. The body I inhabit is flesh and blood, atoms and carbon like the sentient beings and landscape on every side. It sure looks and feels as if my connection to the circumstances around me are interlocked, like cause and effect.
The news on the radio is distressing, therefore I am upset.

But Jesus is unaffected by temporary constraints. Standing before Pilate, whose absolute power hung like an iron chain across His scarred back, Christ spoke of another world, peopled with throngs of angels.
"My Kingdom is not of this world."
