Marriage Moats-One More Goal

Marriage Moats Caring for Marriage

The New York Times featured an article about resolutions. It is interesting to peek into the wish lists of a clutch of high profile authors.

  • Create art
  • Talk more, argue less
  • Warm welcomes and farewells
  • Listen carefully
None of them required a checkbook, or a six point strategy. That narrows the divide between the wisher and success. I have already defined one goal, which I suspect will not peter out before the next winter solstice. But I also notice that the arrow of my intention to pray for other marriages flies over my own four walls.

After trying on the goals of Brene Brown and Madeline Levine I feel brave enough to double my load. I intend to host one family night each month. I do after all have a handy dandy IPhone, which will beep, blink and trill to remind me of the time and place. Siri is not easily distracted when it comes to nagging.

There. It is already set on repeat. I am excited already to see how many ways we find to laugh.
