![]() Here is a video of a disabled wrestler pinning his opponent. It is not about an even playing field, or even trying your best. It has a different revenue stream, one that has less to do with bravado and more with compassion. There are inequities that stagger through most marriages. He is thrifty, she loves to shop. She is flamboyant, he is reserved. He had an explosive father, she is still close to her sweet Daddy.
The other day I was chatting with a couple who have personality differences.
"I am kind of shy, he is more friendly." The way he looked at her as she offered this fragile self disclosure made me want to throw my arms around him. No impatience, no blame. Not a whiff of superiority or pity. He loves her and supports her at whatever rate she is able to grow into her own aspirations.
What a miracle, really, that we can win by losing our grip on success.
He who finds his life will lose it,
and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
