Many of us will long remember the storm of 2012. As I write this I do not know yet what the damage will be for the millions of people trapped in Sandy's path. 

 

It looks probable that more than a handful will lose property, and belongings. Some may lose their homes, or lives. These are not small consequences for simply living on the eastern seaboard in a bad year.

 

As we wait out the wind there are unknowns swirling around us like arctic jet streams, colliding with tropical storms. But there are some significant knowns holding fast in the torrential rains.

 

Love is not severed by weather, or physical destruction. And it's the only thing I am taking with me when I leave this blustery planet for balmier shores.
