I read an article about cutting your wedding costs in half. It suggests that if you scale down on the dress and four course reception, go local for the honeymoon instead of to a remote island you could have a chunk of change that would make a big difference for your future. Here are a few possible ways that money could serve you.
 
  • Use it for a down payment on a house
  • Go on a trip every other year for a decade
  • Invest it for college tuition
  • Pay off your credit cards
  • Save it for a sizable nest egg for retirement
