This month gratitude is in vogue. There are folks who commit to verbalizing an area of thanks each day. Hearing those words affects me and no doubt others.
I visited a new
mother last week. She told me that she is writing down three blessings each morning. She looks at it while she is holding her baby, and it affects her. The day has a better outcome.
It is not difficult to find people around the world who would weep with joy to have what I do. Parisians, Syrians, Kenyans, whose lives have been decimated want only to have their homes intact, their children breathing. Yet the choice to embrace gratitude for what I have been given
is not a slam dunk. I need to expand into it.
The list is endless, should I pause long enough to scribe it.

Just now I went to feed my chickens lunch. The little one, whose name is Chosen flew up to
perch on my shoulder. She is smaller than the rest and cannot be penned in with them lest she be pecked. So she wanders. When I come out the door she flies over to me, and waits for a little tidbit, which I am happy to bring her.
How can I not be awash with thanks?
Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all
numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. Matthew 10
