You think you know me. You think you know what I will do, and why I do it.
But how can you, when I am still finding out myself? The person inside this body is not quite the same today as last year or even last month.
Our bodies change pretty drastically.... we add or drop twenty pounds, try a new hair cut, develop high blood pressure, sprain an ankle. Significant changes happen on the inside too.
I am more fearful of fast driving than I was when we started out. I guess three cars totaled by our kids on two continents has something to do with that.
I have a deeper sense of trust in God than when it was all still theoretical. He has buoyed us through our own versions of the Red Sea, when there was not a life raft in sight.
I don't yell nearly as much as when the children were shorter. I remember with embarrassment feeling hoarse from my own screeching over spilled legos and potty training, Being astute, I gradually realized that the cacophony did nothing to endear me to my children, so I moved on to lower decibel parenting strategies.
I am still growing into the space of who I will become.
You only know a little of me. But doesn't that make it worth sticking together forever to find out more?
