Chinese Love

Somewhere between church and work Monday morning my keys disappeared. Yet instead of being frantic I felt calm. I believed they would show up. In the meantime there was the spare key, even though it meant I had no post office box key, and could not get into the pastor's office off hours. I made do.

Then today Zack asked for a ride to school and on the way he noticed my keys in the third seat. I laughed to remember I had sat back there and stuffed them in my pockets. I smiled with a sigh of relief.

This five minute video is in Chinese. The subtitles explain that divorce rates are skyrocketing in Asia. A young husband asked his wife for a divorce and she made one request. She wanted one hug each day for a month.

With few words, the video expresses the rekindling of affection that can happen over time. She believed he would find his love for her again. All he needed was a reason to look.

The movie ended with the statistics that three million couples divorced last year in China, and 82,000 remarried.... each other.
Love,
Lori
