This
commercial for the Olympics is brilliant. With a cushy budget and creative director they captured the twenty year process of learning to walk, falling, learning to skate, falling, learning to snow board, falling, upping the hills, falling,
breaking a leg, falling, trying again... triumph.
What would it be like to collapse twenty years of a relationship into two minutes? Boy meets girl, he stammers something dumb, they go on a date, she cries, he calls back, they try again, things go better, they fall in love, he proposes, they get married, they get an apartment, the pipes freeze, he fixes it, she cleans up, a baby comes, they are exhausted, his job cranks up, she feels abandoned, he says stupid things, she
cries, the baby gets older, they try again, they get stronger, a second baby comes, they fall flat on their faces, he helps more at home, she tries to be less critical, he notices and reciprocates, they go to a marriage conference, it's rejuvenating, they get stronger, the child gets sick, they become a team, he recovers, they are grateful, they become mentors for a younger couple just starting out.
