Before the credits were finished I was searching on Amazon to buy a copy. A friend had recommended the movie What If back in January but I so seldom watch movies I had never pursued it. This morning the twins were on a sleep over, Zack was away for the weekend, and Benjamin was content playing math games, so I indulged in a flick.

Similar to the classic It's a Wonderful Life, and just as endearing, the film takes a man back to a point of decision in his life, and let's him experience the road not taken. The window into a marriage that is yanked out of the confines of time is for me more real than real. I love that it shows the stark contrast between monetary success and genuine marriage. The main character grows through the process of sacrifice, and service. They even quote one of my favorite lines.

You are not a body with a soul. You are a soul. You have a body.

I will be offering the movie next February at the conference. Bring tissues. And a hand to hold.

Love,
Lori
