Playfulness. Why do we forget how good it feels?

Maybe the expectations swirling around us have something to do with it.

My daughter recently told me that her coworker said something silly at a company luncheon, and found out it was cited as a reason to pass over him for a promotion. It was seen as unprofessional.

There is a man I know who does killer impressions, side splittingly accurate depictions of the voices and mannerisms of his peers. But he too was told to put a lid on his humor. It would get him in trouble.

Children are a great excuse to play. They loosen the invisible restrictions that tether us to decorum. I find it timely that toddlers show up in a marriage about the time when some couples are forgetting how to have fun.

I love the sound of John's giggle. He laughed last night as he was telling me about the antics at his barbershop weekend. But when was the last time I made him laugh?

Gotta do something about that.

.
Love,
