Benjamin was called for jury duty.
This startled me. I double checked the name on the envelope, which indeed named him as a candidate. I looked across the room at him, as he watched a video about the Ten Best Disney Heroes.
Benjamin has morals. He knows that being honest and kind are why God put
us on this planet. But does that mean he would be a good team member on a jury?
Sitting for hours in a crowded box would not please him. The banging of the gavel might make him jump. If there was a police officer he would walk up to him or her and speak. He is familiar with Officer Judy of Zootopia, and knows her voice actor. (Ginnifer Goodwyn. I asked him)
"You are brave," he would remind them.
I cannot
recall any Pixar movies that include the courtroom. Maybe there are some, and if so that would be his reference point. He is not savvy with innuendo, or uncovering a person's motives. He does better with absolutes such as Scar is bad, and Mufasa is good.
Still, Benjamin is a huge fan of second chances. Scrooge is memorable because of past wrongs. Simba stepped back into courage after having run away from the pride lands.
Ben
understands paying for your mistakes, like when Professor Hinkle has to write an apology to Frosty the Snowman a hundred zillion times.
I don't know if I will ever be on trial for breaking a law. But if I am, I would love to have Benjamin in my box.
