Composing these daily messages, which I call Marriage Moats, has been a focus of my spiritual energy for twelve years. It took precedence over laundry, and dishes, though those tasks took their place at the back of the line. I wondered where God would lead me as I follow what I believe to be His lead and finish this marathon a month from now.
God had a plan, it turns out. I have been given a new opportunity to connect with people. This spring I joined a team of women who respond to comments around videos put out by a channel called Off the Left Eye. It is awakening parts of my life that have been dormant for awhile. The people who watch and ask questions are from a myriad of backgrounds. Some are grateful, effusive even. Others are befuddled, and eager to learn. A portion are defiant, which keeps things interesting. Many care
deeply about the bible, and following God's word.
Their curiosity gives me a window for offering scriptures, as well as passages from Swedenborg. I include stories, and affirmations for their search. Sometimes I use my name, but most often I am anonymous. It moves me how many people show up in their vulnerability, asking for reassurance that God still loves them.
As a moderator I have access to statistics about which videos are watched most often. Today I noticed that there is one that had ten or twenty times the views as many others. The title caught people's attention.
"Are You Addicted to Evil?"
My compassion softens to think of the weighty hearts that go hunting for hope.
Another episode that drew a magnitude of viewers speaks to a longing for comfort.
"How to Know if Your Guardian Angel is With You."
There is another quality that I appreciate about the team I have joined. The people who create the shows make themselves vulnerable too. While the graphics are impressive and the content is thoughtful, I enjoy that they do a lot of laughing.
